Painting Contest city of Coin

BASES

ONE All artists are eligible to enter the competition regardless of their nationality, origin or residence.

TWO The contest “Paintings of Coín City “ possesses a double modality. On the one hand, you will be able to present pictorial works of a free subject matter, and the other, paintings on corners, landscapes, fiestas or peoples of Coín, named “Prize of Coín City '.

THREE The amount allocated for prizes is € 5,000, divided as follows:
- First Prize, free theme: 2,000 €
- Second Prize, free theme: 1,500 €
- Award 'City Coin': € 1,500

FOUR The participants must submit only one painting that is unprecedented and original (not rewarded, nor published).

FIVE The works presented will not be less than 1 m. or 2 m. on its largest side. As far as technique and style, there are no standards whatsoever. The works may not be signed nor have any other sign that identifies its author.

SIX The works will appear framed or protected by a strip, not admitted are works protected with glass. In any case the artist will be able to use an unbreakable material.

SEVEN The admission of works will begin on July 1 and end on July 25, 2008, at the Casa de la Cultura of Coín, located on calle Manuel García s/n, Monday through Friday during business hours from 10 to 14 hours and 18 to 20 hours. The works will be delivered personally, by proxy, or by transport agencies with prepaid freight. All work must be sufficiently protected, with adequate and reusable packaging for their return.

EIGHT Pictures must bear on the back: a label affixed to the chassis with the pseudonym under which its author is involved, the titles, size, technique and support. And in a sealed envelope: name, complete address, email, phone contact, photocopy of identity card and brief biographical and artistic history of the author, as well as price of the work (if you want to use the option of selling to the public, If not awarded).

NINE The organization shall not be liable for any damages beyond their control (loss, theft, damage to works, imperfections in fresh work, causes of major force), advising the contestant to get insurance if they see fit.

TEN The presented works will be evaluated by the jury detailed later, which will award prizes on August 1, 2008. The judgement of the jury is final.

ELEVEN The jury will comprise:
- Jose Maria Córdoba, plastic artist.
- Mariana Martínez, joint director of the Workshop of Engraving Gravura of Malaga.
- Juan Aguilar, professor of the Faculty of Fine arts of Malaga.
- Carmen Alonso Novoa, gallery owner.
- David Lopez Rubiño, researcher of the Faculty of Fine arts of Granada.

TWELVE The participant works will be presented at an exhibition in the Convent of Santa María de la Encarnación of Coin, which will be open from 1 to 29 August. On the day of the inauguration, which will take place at 9pm, a conference is to be conducted by members of the jury and the verdict of the jury will be announced. The prizes could be declared deserted if the jury so estimates .

THIRTEEN The awards ceremony will take place on August 10 at 1pm in the Convent of Santa María de la Encarnación.

FOURTEEN non-winning works may be sold by its authors for a price fixed by them, providing for that purpose phone contact of each author to the public for as long as they remain exposed.

FIFTEEN Works not rewarded after the exhibition has finished will be returned. The works delivered in hand will be collected directly and the ones arrived by agency will be sent by the same system, using the same packing. The postage and handling will be the responsibility of the artist.

SIXTEEN The wining artist will be offered the opportunity to make an exibition in one of the rooms of the town hall of Coín, to be held in July and / or August of 2009.

SEVENTEEN In the event that, after two months from the closing of the exhibition, any artist has not gathered their presented work, the organization will understand that it has been abandoned by the author and will dispose of it with full control, on having finished the indicated term.

EIGHTEEN The winning pictures will become the property of Coín's Town hall
